As the centerpiece of Lake Region, the David Wallace designed 18-hole golf course features 6,469 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The undulating greens are fast and true and are an excellent test for all levels of play. In 2005 renovations were made on the championship course, driving range, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and short game and putting green practice facilities. What makes this course so unique? There are no homes anywhere along the course. This is a true country club.
Whatever the time of day, the wonders of nature surround you as you experience golf's true "nature walk". Shimmering lakes, sweeping vistas, and the sounds of wildlife can be heard. You may see a sunning alligator on the 10th hole or bald eagles fishing in Lake Hamilton from the 3rd and 18th holes.
Companionship and competition have been a way of life at LRYCC since 1923. Throughout the year there are a variety of golf events and tournaments; from the “Club Championship” and weekly MGA and LGA matches to the Polk Country Amateur tournament and Moonlight Golf. In 2009 LRYCC hosted the Duramed FUTURES Tour inaugural Florida's Natural Growers® Charity Classic where future stars of the LPGA are created.
