Tennis, A Way of Life
We’re so keen on tennis at Lake Region Yacht & Country Club that the courts are bustling even in the 90-degree heat. All of our eight courts, six Har-Tru and two Nova Pro-Bounce hard courts, are lighted and ready for play seven days a week.
The tennis complex boasts an array of amenities that includes men’s and women’s locker rooms with showers, a fitness center, a full-service pro shop, and a member’s lounge to relax and cool down after your workout. We even have a massage studio where Jana Stephenson, our licensed massage therapist, provides a variety of massage techniques to help your unwind from the stresses of life.
Throughout the year various social events are held at the tennis complex along with a USTA sanctioned juniors tournament every August and men’s and women’s USTA league competition.
John Frates, LRYCC's Director of Tennis, has been in the tennis business for 20 years and is USPTR certified. John's past tennis assignments include director positions with the Newington Tennis Center, the Canton Racquet Club, the Meadows Tennis Club, and the Woodstock Inn and Resort in Woodstock, Vermont. Ladies drills and round robin will begin June 9, 2009 from 8:30am to 9:30am every Tuesday and Thursday. Cost is $15 per session and round robin will begin after drills. Contact Tennis Pro Shop for more information.
